It's beginning to look a lot like...no! not Christmas yet, but a greenhouse.

Yes, it looks more and more like a greenhouse.  And pretty soon we can put the plastic on.
WOW, quite the work has been accomplished so far.
We hope to change the front of the building as well.
BUT I will not spoil the surprise!
Koen is thinking and planning it    SO we will keep you posted.

Miss Mustard Seed Milk paint !!
In our new store, I will now have a WORK SHOP area.  SUPER COOL.
(i just have to find a way to put a coffee machine there because i can see myself painting and arranging for hours and hours).
Not only do we offer the Van Gogh chalk paint, we have a great assortment of milk paint as well.

This is a combination of an old desk and a mirror i found at Mel's treasure chest.  But amazingly they fit perfect.

Meanwhile
Luke is helping putting the lid on the pot, in this case the pit I mean.

Sneak peak !!

And in between the chaos, boxes and ladders, we have already              welcomed some of you.
Thank you for your enthusiasm as well.

And as a last note, we, as so many other parents, are having another one leaving the house.  Our Elien is going to Edmonton to follow bakery.  And as we sniffle while writing this, we wish all these young bright people all the best with their future studies.

I think I'm gonna like it here !

Yes, the day has come. !    Woo hoo !!

We are officially moved because today I went to the post office and got a BRAND new mailing address.

It is absolutely time for an update because so much has been done.  (could not stay in Las Vegas forever right !!??)

The first furniture got moved in.    We have been collecting dressers, cupboards, shelves and anything else that can be painted with our chalk paint and milk paint.
I did not put my paint pants away yet BECAUSE there is still so much to paint !!!

Our fresh veggie market corner is open !
Fresh tomatoes and peppers AND locally grown potatoes.

Did you know that you can still plant lots of outdoor material ?
(and they are on sale, that is even better !!)

Meanwhile, somewhere in Barrhead, 2 diva sisters are in charge of watering the flower pots.  (great sibling therapy !)

Of course we should not forget the outside of our project.
                   It is coming !!

!!!!! SNEAK PEAK !!!!!! (I had thought about it, visualized it, dreamed about it, talked about it and now it is almost ready)

As we say a sad goodbye to our old location, we will certainly not forget all the memories we made.  It was after all our first start here in Canada.
We had nice neighbors, made great friends, learned lots AND hope to take all that with us to the new place.
Until next time again.  We'll be back.

Friday 9 August 2013

Don't cry for us Las Vegas ! We'll be back.

A place of glitter, fantasy and OMG this enormous heat !!

As soon as you open the doors of the airport, Las Vegas welcomes you by slapping you in the face with this unexpected heat wave.  For a Canadian that is used to minus 40, this warmth makes you think you will never survive 4 days.

Las Vegas is CERTAINLY NOT:
    *a place to go to when you like to read a book in the shadow of willow trees;
    *a place to go to when you like peace and quiet surroundings;

But it CERTAINLY is a place where:

you can visit your favorite TV show !  And get to see him as well

You can make a New Best Friend For Ever !
(despite the fact that one's singing talent is greater than the other)
(sorry Celine)

And where a very handsome young King of Austria will take you in his arms for a picture !

Well these past 4 days were wonderful indeed.  SO much to see and to do, and SO little time.
(no other solution then to some day we just HAVE to go back).

The reality hits hard when you open the airport doors back in Canada, and you FREEZE because you are not wearing a sweater and long pants.!! (how could we have forgotten about that)

So like many other holiday stories, ours ended as well.  Now we have to continue our big move.
(a little thing we forgot about these past days)

Until next time, with an update about how that is going.

Friday 2 August 2013

Just a little small something !

As if we have not enough to build ABOVE the ground, turns out we need to go down under.

 That's my man.
Always hard at work  but
still has time for his camera-carrying-pictures-needing-for-their-blog-wife. !!

You must wonder "what the heck" are they making now?!
Well this is going to be a water reservoir.
Deciding that we needed this, was done in 10 minutes.  Maybe we should have thought
about it a little longer..
It is said that "pouring concrete" will turn a boy into a man.  Our 2 young team workers will indeed sleep good at night.
One day, they will look back to their experience at our greenhouse and tell stories to their children about "how they had to pour concrete".  Hopefully they will think of us with fond memories ??!!
(probably not tonight after doing this all day)

Meanwhile somewhere in Barrhead, I am just painting away.  Trying to get new furniture pieces ready to go in our new store.  (when you saw me in town these past days, don't worry, I DO have other clothes beside these paint pants !)

Woohoo, here it is.  My first ever put together cupboard.  Very proud of myself.  Until..... I started hanging up the doors, and discovered that on one of them i painted the words upside down.
Why does that always happen??!!  BUT, no panic, I fixed it.
And when no one will find out the boo boo,
I certainly will never tell !

To close this post, we want to express our thanks to every one who follows this blog.  We very much enjoy writing news about our big move, showing you pictures and telling stories.  But it would be no fun if no one read it.
So thank you for your support !
